Ernest Adams established a NZ baking business in the early 1900's. Ernest Adams sweet baked range of goods provides delicious ready made baking and is NZ's leading sweet bake range.

'Ernest Adams – tastes just like home baking. Ernest Adams is the trusted sweet treat no matter what the occasion because only Ernest Adams has been providing New Zealanders with authentic home baking since 1929.'  http://www.getfood.co.nz/product/ernest-adams-cookies/

Product: Ernest Adams offer a large range of baked items such as
- Cakes
- Deserts
- Biscuits
- Pastries

There unique products sell themselves as a 'homely and comforting' range of deserts/treats. The biscuit range we are focusing on consists of several different flavours such as

- Double Choc
- Apricot Chocolate Chip
- Chocolate Chip
- Peanut Brownie
- Shortbread
- Anzac

And in 2011, Ernest Adams released a gluten free biscuit which comes in a 190g packet with 9 biscuits.

Place: The company was established in Christchurch by Ernest Adams, an English-born baker, in the early 1920s. The company grew, with bakeries in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin by the time of Bruce's retirement in 1929. Following Bruce's retirement, the company was split, with Adams Bruce operating in the North Island and a new company, Ernest Adams Ltd., taking over the South Island arm of the business. Despite his official retirement, Bruce continued to work for the company as manager of the Christchurch factory until his death in 1939.

Price: Ernest Adams almost dull/naked design of packaging portrays a cheaper idea as opposed to Farmbakes more Natural rustic look. The Biscuits normally go for about $3.50 in average supermarkets. Prices that we had found suggests,

Countdown: $3.49
New World: $3.50
Pack n Save: $3.50

Promotion: Ernest Adams have very nil media advertising besides the small information given on the goodman fielder website. The product markets itself and the only type of advertising Ernest Adams use is their brand/packaging and promotional advertisements in food stores.

WEEK SIX/FINAL

Introduction of colour to create moods on each spread. The blue created on static soft mood which almost made the brochure boring. the choice of colours now have created a vibrant and colourful emotion.

WEEK FOUR/FIVE: DEVELOPMENT FULL MOCK UP/DIGITAL OUTPUT OPTIONS

From class critique, I have decided to go back to the silhouette theme/ cartoon theme. Simplistic design but still communicates the idea through the illustrations. The blue/black and white work with each other but may consider using more colours to give each spread a different vibe.

DIGITAL OUTPUTS

Design Studio

Design Studio is a 'all under one roof' business including advertising, sign writing, graphic design, photography and digital printing. After consultation with them over the phone on suggestions as to how to print/present my brochure, they had given me advice to go to their friend who specifically specialises in brochure printing. Design studio only do larger scale printing generally on 551 oracle or rapid air which is an adhesive and would not be the ideal option for me to use.

Claire Image

Claire Image is an independently owned printing business originated by Claire herself. After consultation with her regarding digital output, she had suggestion to to print on GSM paper types through her Fuji Xerox 700 Digital Colour Press to get the best result.

Paper suggested by Claire to use:

Stock Weight options:

100gsm
120gsm
160gsm
200gsm
250gsm
300gsm

WEEK FOUR: MOCK UP/DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

I have changed the colour them to a terrain colour for this developed mock up. Still yet to do the type in indesign but I feel as if the change of colour makes the spreads not as busy but still communicates the idea across the spread showing consistency and contract between the 3 chosen colours

WEEK THREE/FOUR: DEVELOPMENT/MOCK UP

Development concepts

From class critique, it came to my attention that the first initial concepts did not really convey the idea of each type of riding clear enough. To the untrained eye, each silhouette did not really communicate the image well enough, I have come up with some more concepts that reflect from the first. These images communicate each idea better along with a more well balanced format. reading from the top left/image clearly portraying each image as to what it exactly is. the 2 page spread works well with each other being consistent through colour and movement.
